Privacy Policy

1. The short version

• Your schedule, overrides, and pay settings live in files on your phone. Shiftwheel has no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind.
• The optional AI assistant is the only feature that sends anything off your phone. It is off until you turn it on, and the app tells you exactly what it sends before the first message ever leaves.
• Your pay settings are never sent anywhere, ever.

2. What stays on your phone

Everything, unless you use the assistant: your rotation pattern, shift types and times, overrides, calendar export manifest, and all pay settings (wage, overtime rules, differentials). Calendar export writes into a dedicated "Shifts" calendar on your own device via Apple's EventKit; Shiftwheel never reads your other calendars' events.

3. What the AI assistant sends, if you opt in

When you use the assistant (schedule questions, conversational setup, or roster photo import), the following is transmitted:

• Your messages: the text you type or dictate to the assistant.
• Schedule details the assistant looks up: the shifts it reads from your phone to answer your question.
• Roster photos: only the photos you deliberately scan.
• An anonymous install ID: a random identifier used solely to meter the free monthly quota. It is not linked to your name, email, or any account (there are no accounts), and resetting the app resets it.

4. Where that data goes

This data goes to Shiftwheel's own relay server (a Cloudflare Worker we operate) and is forwarded to Anthropic, the AI provider, to generate the response. Our relay does not log or store your message content. Anthropic processes it to provide the response, subject to its own privacy policy at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

Pay settings are excluded by design: the assistant has no access to your wage or any pay figure.

5. What we collect about you

Nothing else. No analytics, no advertising identifiers, no location, no contacts, no tracking across apps or websites. We cannot identify you from anything the app sends.

6. Data retention and deletion

Shiftwheel keeps no server-side copy of your data. Deleting the app deletes your schedule and pay data. The anonymous quota counter expires automatically within 45 days of each month's end.

7. Children

Shiftwheel is not directed at children under 13.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version ships with the app update that changes the behavior, and the effective date above moves.
