Privacy Policy

Effective: September 10, 2026

Yield writes a prayer from what you tell it you are carrying. What you write is personal, and it is treated that way.

1. The short version

  • Your prayers, journeys, reflections and notes live in a file on your phone. They are not uploaded, backed up, or synced anywhere.
  • What you write about your situation does leave your phone, once, to be turned into a prayer. It is not stored on our server, and it is not used to train anything.
  • There is no analytics of any kind in this app. No tracking, no advertising identifiers, no third-party SDK watching what you do.
  • You can delete any prayer, any journey, or your whole account from inside the app.

2. What stays on your phone

Everything you can see in the app: your prayers, the journeys they belong to, the updates and reflections you write, your answered prayers, and your settings. They are held in a single file in the app's own storage, protected by the device's file encryption, and they are never sent to us.

Because they are only on your phone, they are not recoverable if you lose it, delete the app, or reset the device. Yield does not sync between devices and does not back your prayers up. That is a real limitation and it is stated here rather than left to be discovered.

3. What leaves your phone, and when

One thing leaves, and only when you ask for a prayer: the text you wrote about your situation, along with the journey's title and category, your prayer-length and Scripture preferences, and, for a journey already under way, what has happened in it so far. That last part is what lets a prayer carry on rather than repeat, and it can include recent prayers in that journey and updates or reflections you have written in it.

It goes to our own server function, which passes it to Anthropic to write the prayer, and the prayer comes back. Anthropic processes it to produce the response, subject to its own privacy policy at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

Nothing else is sent. Not your other journeys, not your name, not your email, not anything from a different journey than the one you are praying through.

4. What our server keeps

One row per prayer you request, holding your account's identifier, the time, and a flag recording whether the Scripture check found a mismatch. That is the whole of it, and it exists to stop the service being abused.

Your situation text is not stored. The prayer that comes back is not stored. Neither is written to our logs.

5. Scripture

Scripture quoted in a prayer is checked, before it reaches you, against a stored copy of the World English Bible, which is in the public domain. A reference that does not match is not shown to you. Nothing is paraphrased and nothing is invented.

6. If what you write sounds like a crisis

Yield looks at what you write for signs of self-harm or abuse, both on your phone and again on the server, before any prayer is written. If it finds them, no prayer is generated at all and you are shown real help instead.

That check happens in the moment and is not recorded. We are not notified, no flag is stored against your account, and nothing about it is shared with anyone.

7. Your account

Yield creates an anonymous account for you the first time you open it, so that your prayers have an owner on the device without you having to sign up for anything. It holds no name, no email, and nothing about you.

You can later attach Apple, Google, or an email address to it, so you can get back to your prayers if you sign out. If you do, we hold that identity through Supabase, our authentication provider, and nothing more. We never receive your Apple or Google password.

8. Purchases

Yield+ is bought through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card, your billing address, or your Apple Account details. Whether you have a subscription is checked on your device against what Apple signed, and is not recorded on our server.

9. Reminders

The daily reminder is scheduled by your phone and delivered by your phone. There is no push service, and no token identifying your device is sent anywhere. If you never grant permission, or withdraw it later, nothing about that leaves the device either.

10. Deleting things

Any prayer and any journey can be deleted from inside the app; deleting a journey deletes its prayers, updates and reflections with it.

Deleting your account is also in the app, in the You tab. It removes your account and everything our server holds about it, and erases the prayers stored on that device. It cannot be undone and there is no grace period: gone means gone, which is what makes the promise worth anything.

11. Children

Yield is not intended for children, and nothing in it is designed for or directed at them.

12. Changes to this policy

If what the app does with your information changes, this page changes with it, and the effective date above changes too.
